Tiffany's Dance Academy Student Accepted to University of Arizona School of Dance

Tiffany's Dance Academy proudly announces that TDA Company Dancer, Millie Hanson, has been accepted to the prestigious University of Arizona School of Dance for the 2013-2014 academic year. Tiffany's Dance Academy Founder, Tiffany Henderson, was elated by the news. "This is an amazing opportunity to study at one of the top dance schools in the nation. I am very proud of her accomplishment."

Tiffany's Dance Academy offers professional training for dancers ages two through adult in Classical Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop. Millie Hanson has been dancing since she was three years old, but moved to Tiffany's Dance Academy just a year ago. "To dance is amazing. When I dance I feel weightless and powerful. Taking the audience along to share the movement and emotion is an exhilarating feeling. I am always thankful to have a passion and never take it for granted" the 18 year old said.

She continued, "I'm so thankful to have been able to follow my passion for dance at Tiffany's. It is bittersweet to think of leaving Tiffany's Dance Academy. I will miss my studio routine, but I am also excited to move on to new dance challenges at the University of Arizona. I want to thank all my teachers over the years. They have given me so much and I want them to know I truly value all of it."

The University of Arizona School of Dance has a vibrant ten-member faculty with extensive expertise in both the professional and academic worlds. Recently the School of Dance was honored as the top department for undergraduate education within the University of Arizona, due in part to the highly interactive approach linking undergraduate students and dance faculty members. The School of Dance is unique in its equal emphasis on ballet, modern and jazz dance training. The school has an enrollment of 125 BFA students selected from an audition process of over 500 applicants as well as 10-16 master's program students at any one time.

Background: Tiffany's Dance Academy is a dance studio founded in 2001. TDA emphasizes excellent training in Classical Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical and Hip-Hop. Tiffany Henderson, owner/director graduated from the University of Arizona, Magna cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance in 1998. She has performed professionally with the Arizona Jazz Dance Ensemble at the Kennedy Center, in Washington D.C. She has also performed as far away as Amsterdam, and Japan.
