The New York Theater Ballet announced its new season. The NYTB has made its new home in a new studio space in St. Mark's Church in the East Village. They will also hop around Manhattan theaters and small towns along the East Coast as part of its goal to reach underserved cities.
Performances begin on September 19th with a two-day residency at Pace University's Schimmel Center. As part of its "Legends and Visionaries" program, which returns in February at New York Live Arts, the troupe will present dances by Agnes de Mille, Tanowitz and Cunningham.
Throughout the season, Theater Ballet will also perform Prokofiev's "Cinderella," choreographed by Mahler.
In December, Theater Ballet will revive its abridged "Nutcracker." The troupe will also partner with the New York Pops for "A Charlie Brown Christmas," at Carnegie Hall on December 20th.
