Revered for her inventiveness, Pam Tanowitz brilliantly pairs the first section of the story progresses as if in a dream of glittering surfaces, a world premiere, with the song "Four Marys," by Pulitzer Prize winning composer Julia Wolfe, played live by the acclaimed NYC-based FLUX Quartet. The second part of the story progresses... is set to a recorded electronic score by longtime Tanowitz collaborator Dan Siegler. In the work, the choreographer employs her wit and skill to tell a story that is both literal and abstract. Also on the program, the company performs its renowned piece, Heaven on One's Head, heralded by The New York Times as one of the best new works of 2014. Set toConlon Nancarrow's String Quartets 1 & 3,again performed live by FLUX Quartet, this work beautifully reflects the rhythmic patterns of the music through intricate footwork and a unique, stunning combination of lower and upper body movement.

Performances of Pam Tanowitz Dance will take place from February 18-21 at The Joyce Theater (175 Eighth Avenue at 19th Street) according to the following schedule: Thursday-Friday 8pm; Saturday 2pm & 8pm; Sunday 2pm. Curtain Chat, a free post-performance talkback with the artists, will take place on Friday, February 19. This enlightening discussion is open to all patrons attending that evening's performance.
