The Group Theatre Too presents its third annual Choreographer's Canvas, a one-night event featuring the works of over fifteen established and emerging choreographers from around the country. The Canvas, headed by GTT Executive Producer Justin Boccitto, will play at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center and showcases many styles of dance including tap, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary and theatre dance. This year will also include aerial dance by Manhattan Movement instructor Bobby Hedglin-Taylor whose students have gone on to perform in Ringling Brothers and Cirque du Soleil.
The 2010 Canvas will mark the third appearance for both choreographers Kate Swan and Tracie Stanfield. Swan serves as associate choreographer for Disney's Beauty and the Beast worldwide and Stanfield is on faculty at Broadway Dance Center and was named one of the "Nine Dancemakers Making History" by Dance Spirit Magazine. Joining them are Kyla Barkin, Michael Blevins, Justin Boccitto, Bob Boross, Jessica Chen, Dana Fisch, The Manhattan Youth Ballet, The New York Theatre Ballet, Katrina Phillip, Jonathan Riedel, Michael Susten, Dawne Swearingen, Jennifer Turey and the premiere of Sue Samuels' new company Jazz Roots Dance.
