Tonight, February 6th the sexy male cast of Chita Rivera: The Dancer's Life will take the spotlight at Splash (50 W. 17th St.) as part of "Musical Mondays" at the chic downtown venue.

"There will be a raffle for free tickets to the show - plus, if you aren't lucky enough to win tickets, you will be able to purchase tickets at a discount from cast members. And you never know - Chita might even stop by," according to press notes. After Chita's men perform a special skit written especially for the evening, DJ Randy Bettis & Peppermint will take over with "Candyland," featuring a special guest performance by KoKo Aviance. The evening will begin at 8 PM, Chita's men--Alex Sanchez, Lloyd Culbreath, Edgard Gallardo, Richard Montoya and Richard Amaro--will perform at 10:30 PM, and the raffle will begin at 11 PM.

The female ensemble of The Dancer's Life--Deirdre Goodwin, Maddie Kelly, Allyson Tucker Mitchell and Lainie Sakakura --will handle the ticket request forms, while everyone--including producers Tracy Aron and Joe McGinnis--will be working the room.

The first prize of the raffle is a framed poster signed by the cast as well as the chance to meet Rivera after the show and have a picture taken with her. The second prize is a framed 8x10 signed picture of Rivera in 4 shows. The third prize is poster signed by the cast, while the fourth prize is a signed headshot of Rivera. There will also be chances for the 5th prize, a T-shirt signed by Rivera "that the boys had been wearing all night."

The Dancer's Life, which is currently playing at the Schoenfeld Theatre, features a book penned by four-time Tony Award-winner Terrence McNally (who did the same for The Rink in 1984), and boasts direction and choreography by Graciele Daniele (Annie Get Your Gun, Ragtime, Once on This Island). The show is billed as a "tour through famous numbers in the American musical theatre," with Rivera dipping and gliding through dances she's performed in some of her greatest triumphs. To two new songs by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime, Dessa Rose), as well as musical theatre classics, Rivera (sometimes with the ensemble) performs numbers choreographed by Jerome Robbins, Bob Fosse, Gower Champion, Michael Kidd and others, among them the "Shriner's Ballet" from Bye, Bye Birdie, "Dance at the Gym" and "America" from West Side Story, "All That Jazz" from Chicago and the title song from Kiss of the Spiderwoman.

Rivera has been a consistent and dynamic presence on Broadway for over half a century. She most recently starred in the New York-bound Kander and Ebb musical The Visit at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago. Rivera is a two-time Tony Award winner for The Rink and Kiss of the Spiderwoman, and also received nods for her performances in Nine (her most recent Broadway appearance), Jerry's Girls, Merlin, Bring Back Birdie, the original production of Chicago and Bye Bye, Birdie. Rivera originated the role of Anita in West Side Story, and has also been seen on Broadway in Can-Can, Mr. Wonderful, Shinbone Alley and Bajour, as well as in touring productions of Pippin and Sweet Charity. Rivera is a 2002 Kennedy Center Honoree.
