In Just a week and a half three of the most talked-about dance companies in the country will perform at the inaugural edition of Hudson Valley Dance Festival, a unique evening of world-class dance which will also feature choreography by famed American Ballet Theatre principal Marcelo Gomes. There are some tickets still available for this very special event.

Hudson Valley Dance Festival (#hvdance) will arrive Saturday, October 12, 2013, at the Historic Catskill Point, a 19th century warehouse on the banks of the Hudson River. A mix of sass, spirit and strength, the event is produced by and benefits Dancers Responding to AIDS, a program of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

The festival's first program will feature performances by:
• Evidence, A Dance Company, honoring the memory of dancer Beth Young with "Torch," a joyous celebration of life propelled by South African house music
• Marcelo Gomes, the Brazilian star of American Ballet Theatre, presenting his own choreography in a pas de deux featuring Jessica Saund and Thomas Forster set to "Mozart-Adagio" by Arvo Pärt
• Monica Bill Barnes & Company, cleverly showcasing the innate theatricality of everyday life with excerpts from "I Feel Like" and "Three Acts, Two Dancers, One Radio Host" featuring commentary by This American Life host Ira Glass
• Stephen Petronio Company, bringing their fresh and unpredictable style in the beautifully intriguing "Underland"

The money raised by Hudson Valley Dance Festival will help provide grants to more than 450 AIDS and family service organizations nationwide, including the AIDS Council of Northeastern New York. The council serves the Hudson Valley community by providing services to more than 750 people living with HIV/AIDS, outreach to at-risk individuals and effective prevention education. The AIDS Council of Northeastern New York, which serves 15 counties, has been supported by grants from Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS since 1999.

Hudson Valley Dance Festival will feature one performance only, beginning at 5 pm at the Historic Catskill Point located at 1 Main Street in Catskill, NY.

There are still some tickets available from $40-$250. Sponsorship opportunities also are available. A pre-performance cocktail reception at Catskill Point is included at $100 ticket levels and above; VIP and sponsorship ticket levels also include an intimate reception at the impressive Catskill home of Mark Beard and James Manfredi, along with recognition on printed and online materials. Tickets are available online now at dradance.org or by calling 212.840.0770, ext. 229.
