In response to last year's extremely successful presentation of Lo-Fi, An Evening of Works-In-Progress, Dancemakers Artistic Director Michael Trent has relinquished his fall season and handed it over, along with all the authority, to the resident company dancers.

Continuing the revolution, boundary-breaking artist Sook-Yin Lee will lead 'A Guest Artist Interrogation' with the company of Hi-Fi today, November 22 following the performance. Sook-Yin Lee is a Canadian broadcaster, musician, filmmaker, and performer. The former Much Music VJ, hosts the personal storytelling program DNTO on CBC Radio One.

The questioning, based on Sook-Yin's immediate impressions after viewing the performance for the first time, will begin with examining the notion of an artistic democracy. Questions will be posed to, and perhaps by, the resident company dance artists, their collaborators and the audience, to see where control really lies and how many artists will remain to the end of the interrogation.

Dancemakers has contributed to the development of a distinctive and dynamic voice for Canadian contemporary dance for forty years. Since 2003, the Dancemakers Centre for Creation has supported the development of the field through specialized programs for dance artists. Working through contemporary, cross-disciplinary and collaborative approaches, Dancemakers provides rich exchanges with the public through performance and conversation.
