Savion Glover's STePz Set for Merrill Auditorium, 11/6

Portland Ovations will present Tony Award-winning tap dancer and choreographer Savion Glover in his new production STePz at Merrill Auditorium on Thursday, November 6th at 7:30pm.

Savion Glover returns to scorch the Merrill stage in his first Portland appearance in over a decade. His new production, STePz, is an exuberant celebration of tap dance that pays homage to tap masters, while cementing Glover's own place in history. The New Yorker states, "There is nothing boring about his dance-making...watching his latest piece is like going on every ride at the carnival." In STePz Glover not only exhibits his mastery, he also reveals his wit and his joy in performing. Backed by an electrifying soundtrack that includes the music of Prince, Stevie Wonder and John Coltrane, Glover and his ensemble of virtuosic dancers take tap dance to new heights - and levels.
