Roxey Ballet Presents 20th Anniversary of THE NUTCRACKER, Now thru 12/7

New Jersey's Roxey Ballet Company has announced its 20th Anniversary annual production of Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker". The performances will be held at the Kendall Theater For The Arts, at The College of New Jersey in Ewing New Jersey. Performances will run from today, November 29th, 2014 until Sunday December 7th, 2014.

This highly acclaimed annual holiday event has become a favorite tradition of the area residents and holiday visitors alike. The production is regarded as the most child friendly production in the New Jersey and Pennsylvania region. "We are so excited to be entering into our 20th Anniversary season. What a better way to celebrate by hosting an Alumni Gathering directly following our Saturday November 29th show. We have added lots of exciting production enhancements and additions to this season's production. Audiences will see many familiar faces, including alumni from past years and lots of new faces." says Mark Roxey, Artistic Director of Roxey Ballet.

The 20th Anniversary cast is made up of over 100 professional and pre-professional artists, as well as student dancers and actors from around the area. This year's production will feature surprise community leaders who will join the cast, performing alongside the company's world classic roster of professional artists.

Roxey Ballet's "The Nutcracker" is a joyous and magical way to begin the holiday season. This affordable show provides the perfect introduction to ballet for children of all ages. The timeless and beautiful scores of classical music, costumes, special effects, and accessible story mesmerize even the smallest children.

Clara and her friends promise to take you on her enchanting voyage meeting magical mice, giant rats, marching soldiers, swirling snowflakes, waltzing flowers and the beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy and her cavalier. Children should plan for a visit from Santa and his jolly friends!

Mark Roxey, director and co-founder of this acclaimed professional company, directs the annual production. There are over 300 costumes designed by Alicia Worden and Nilda Roxey with lighting design by Michelle Snyder and Jeff Goldstein of Roxey Ballet.

The 20th Anniversary production of "The Nutcracker" opens on Saturday, November 29th at 3:00 pm. There after, shows are Sunday, November 30th at 3:00 pm; Monday, December 1st at 10:00 am; a special performance at the Trenton Psychiatric Hospital on Friday, December 1st at 1:00 pm; Saturday, December 6th at 3:00 pm and Sunday, December 7th at 3:00 pm.

The Monday, December 1st show features a special student matinee which is great for the littlest of audiences as it includes a question and answer session, as well as a meet and greet and autograph signing directly following the concert. This show is also open to the general public.
