On Friday, July 31, 2015, students from the Summer Intensive program at Princeton Ballet School, the official school of NJ's top professional ballet company American Repertory Ballet, will be dancing in the program's culminating performance. The show, entitled An Evening of Dance, will take place at the Berlind Theatre in the McCarter Theatre Center at 6:30pm.
Now in its 33rd year, Princeton Ballet School's Summer Intensive program annually attracts top dance students from around the world. This year, 100 students came from across the United States, including Arizona, California, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Utah and Washington State. Georgia. International students are from Australia, Columbia, Italy and Switzerland. An Evening of Dance will showcase pieces that students have been rehearsing for the past three weeks, alongside their rigorous training schedules.
This year's performance will include a variety of pieces, ranging from restaged excerpts from classical ballets to new works by Princeton Ballet School faculty members. Maria Youskevitch will be re-staging Act II from the classical ballet, Swan Lake. The program will also include new works by Mary Barton, Resident Choreographer of American Repertory Ballet as well as Princeton Ballet School teachers Erika Mero and Janell Byrne. The evening will also include a staging of Barton's Once Upon a Summer's Day, staged by Karen Leslie Moscato.

If you have prior dance experience, schedule a placement class when you call. Beginners do not need to take a placement class. Princeton Ballet School's fall 2015 classes begin September 11.
