The Mill Ballet School, dedicated to educating, inspiring, and creating high-quality dancers and individuals, performed at this past weekend's Lambertville-New Hope Winterfest festivities. This performance, along with the school's December 2012 benefit productions that collected over 250 food items for donation to Fisherman Mark's Food Pantry, allowed students to share the joy of dance and the spirit of philanthropy with the community at-large. The Winter Festival performance highlighted the Mill Ballet's trainee students, who performed unique works choreographed by Melissa Roxey, Joanna Defelice, and Hung Gi Yu, a members of the professional Roxey Ballet. The dancers impressed the audience with their grace and technical abilities. Children from the audience where invited to participate in a delightful workshop of create dance lead by Melissa Roxey.

"The many performing opportunities we are able to offer our students and community teach valuable lessons about dance techniques, stage presence, performance art and the challenges of dancing in varying environments," stated Mill Ballet School Co-Founder and Director Melissa Roxey. "More importantly, the performances give our pre-professional students a chance to fine tune their skills and develop connections with new audiences.

We want each and every dancer to develop a great sense of empowerment as they learn how they can use their dance to benefit others" Mrs. Roxey continued, "We were thrilled to be a part of this year's Winterfest celebration. Mark and I have been in Hunterdon County for just about 18 years now and we really look forward to our continued contribution to the arts and our beautiful young artists.
