"Stark Raving Mad": Mudra Festival of Dance and Bhakti Poetry, presents five leading dancers, several poets, and a spectrum of modes ranging from performance to discussion, film screening to workshop. This April, carnival of mystic verse and dance features classical dance exponents like Rama Vaidyanathan, Sujata Mohapatra, Kapila Venu, Prerana Shrimali, Alarmel Valli from April 24 - 28, at the Experimental Theatre, NCPA
Highlights Include:
-This year, Mudra, NCPA's annual festival of dance, celebrates the grand heritage of Indian Bhakti poetry - a verse of impassioned longing for the sacred.
-Five leading dancers have been invited to interpret these timeless poems of the Indian subcontinent - embodying the human hunger for the divine - in their own distinctive ways.
-Adopting a multidisciplinary approach, the Festival also incorporates discussions, poetry readings and film screenings, and brings together an assortment of dancers, poets, filmmakers and theatre actors in an exciting five-day cultural carnival.
-Each dance performance will be followed by a discussion with the dancer.
