DanceWorks, Toronto's longest-running contemporary dance series now in its 37th season, proudly presents the world premiere of A Soldier's Tale, a powerful dance theatre work choreographed and directed by Signal Theatre Artistic Director Michael Greyeyes that probes probes the effect of war. This exceptional full-length work runs tonight, February 20 to Saturday, February 22 at Harbourfront Centre's Fleck Dance Theatre at 207 Queens Quay West, Toronto.
It examines the aftermath and costs of war - on the soldiers who wage it and their families - by telling the stories of two soldiers: one a Second World War veteran; the other, a soldier in the recent Iraq war.
A Soldier's Tale was written by Tara Beagan with dramaturgy by Yvette Nolan. The show features Keith Barker, Louis Laberge-Côté, Michael Caldwell, Ana Groppler, Kate Holden, Nancy Latoszewski, Jamie Maczko, Daniel McArthur, Tamara Podemski, PJ Prudat, Brendan Wyatt, and Eva and Lilia Greyeyes.
