Ardent dance fans came in from The Hamptons or drove down from Connecticut for Patricia Kennedy and Rolex USA CEO Allen Brill's annual kickoff luncheon for the Career Transition for Dancers Jubilee Gala at famed restaurant Sardi's for the announcement of this year's honorees and the lineup of participating artists.
Once again, Rolex will be the presenting sponsor for the gala "Dance Rocks! An Electrifying Evening Of Entertainment" Career Transition For Dancers' 22nd Anniversary Jubilee, which will take place on Monday, October 29, 2007 at New York City Center. "For one night only it will be an entertaining, electrifying evening of dance set to music through the decades, from the 50's to hip hop. With the eclectic fusion of dance and live contemporary music, 'Dance Rocks!' will attract theatergoers as well as nostalgia seekers of all generations for an evening of pulsating entertainment. The Gala will be the entertainment-dance event of the new season," state press notes.
The evening will feature appearances and special performances by and artists from American Ballet Theatre, ABT Studio Co., Atlanta Ballet, Ballet San Jose, Charlotte D'Amboise, Dance Theatre of Harlem's Dancing Through Barriers Ensemble, Dancing Wheels, DP ONE, Miguel Frasconi, Joffrey Ballet, KR3T's, Melissa Manchester, New York City Ballet, Elizabeth Parkinson, Parsons Dance Company, Keith Roberts, John Selya, Jason Samuels Smith, Mr. Wiggles, Wylliams Henry Dance Theater and others. It will be produced and directed by Ann Marie DeAngelo and written by Deborah Grace Winer.
