photo-4The Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet is one of the few dance academies in the Philadelphia region dedicated solely to training in the art of classical ballet. Students study the precise technique, musicality, complete body awareness, and control of ballet. Many of PAB's students go on to become professionals.

Melinda Pendleton, Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet Society, says the dancers work hard to give back to the audience. Their performance "is a gift of gratitude given TO the audience. The dancers are thanking the audience for coming to the performance and supporting the arts through their demonstration of good technique and artistic expression."

The enchanting music by Tchaikovsky is one of his best-known works, and the ballet, which is set at Christmas time, has become an American holiday tradition. This performance by the PA Academy of Ballet provides the ideal opportunity to introduce family members, young and old, to the charming holiday tradition.

The Upper Darby Performing Arts Center is easy to get to from the Main Line, Center City and the Blue Route. Parking is free. Audience members are invited to take holiday photos with cast members after the Saturday, November 19 performances.

The Upper Darby Performing Arts Center and Upper Darby Summer Stage are jointly sponsored by the Upper Darby School District Board of School Directors and Upper Darby Township Mayor and Council through the Department of Recreation and Leisure Services.
