New York City Center Offers Free Dance Lessons

New York City Center will offer four FREE dance lessons to the public before performances of its Fall for Dance Festival, including lessons in Tap, Ballet for Kids, Hula and Hip Hop, all taking place in the Festival Lounge, City Center, 55th Street between 6th & 7th Avenues.  The FREE dance lessons are open to the public and are scheduled as follows:

Friday, September 19 at 6:30pm
TAP with Toni Noblett

Sunday, September 21 at 1:30pm
Ballet for Kids (ages 6 and up) with National Dance Institute teaching artist Bianca Johnson

Tuesday, September 23 at 6:30 pm
Hula with Halau Hula O Na Mele ‘Aina O Hawai'i dancer Luana Haraguch

Thursday, September 25 at 6:30 pm
Hip Hop with Tammy Colucci

The lessons will take place in the Fall for Dance Lounge. The Lounge is open before, during and after each Fall for Dance performance and is FREE for audience members and the general public. The Lounge features different DJ's each night of the Festival, meals, desserts, and $2 drinks featuring special beers, wines and Mojitos.

The fifth annual Fall for Dance Festival runs from September 17 - 27, 2008, showcasing 28 national and international companies and choreographers in six unique programs (four programs will be repeated).
The 2008 Festival will feature a wide range of dance styles and traditions, ranging from hula and tap to Indian Odissi and Thai Khon, as well as ballet and modern dance companies from across the United States and around the world, many appearing in New York for the first time.
