NYC Ballet Presents a World Premiere by Soloist and Resident Choreographer, Justin Peck

The New York City Ballet presents a World Premiere by NYCB Soloist and Resident Choreographer Justin Peck, which will premiere as part of the Company's annual New Combinations Evening on Wednesday, February 4. Set to Aaron Copland's symphonic score, Four Dance Episodes from Rodeo, the work will feature costumes co-designed by Reid Bartelme, Harriet Jung, and Peck with lighting by Brandon Stirling Baker.

The premiere will be Peck's eighth work for NYCB in three years. His previous works for the Company include In Creases (2012), Year of the Rabbit (2012), Paz de la Jolla (2013), TakeOffs and Landings (NYCB MOVES, 2013), Capricious Maneuvers (2013), Everywhere We Go (2014), and Belles Lettres (2014). Peck was named NYCB Resident Choreographer in July 2014, the second in the Company's history.

In addition to his choreographic work with NYCB, Peck has also created ballets for the School of American Ballet, the Miami City Ballet, L.A. Dance Project, the Pacific Northwest Ballet, the Guggenheim Museum, New York Fall For Dance, and the Nantucket Atheneum Dance Festival, among others. Peck is also the subject of the documentary film Ballet 422, which was directed by Jody Lee Lipes, and follows Peck as he creates New York City Ballet's 422nd new work,Paz de la Jolla, during the Company's 2013 winter season. The film premiered at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival and will be released by Magnolia Pictures in theaters on February 6, 2015.
