Schimmel Center at Pace University presents Koresh Dance Company performing Come Together with performances taking place this weekend, February 6 - 7.
Roni Koresh is a choreographer, teacher and collaborator whose unique blend of ballet, modern and jazz leaves audiences dazzled by the raw passion that is infused into his movement. He formed Koresh Dance Company in 1991 and quickly established an international reputation for highly technical and emotionally charged work.
Come Together takes the audience on a musical journey with composers from Israel and Turkey set alongside Chopin, Beethoven, Ravel and more. The piece's compelling work juxtaposes Middle Eastern music with classical favorites, sharing with the audience both the grounded, driving, earthy rhythms of the old world with the ethereal, heavenly, sounds of the new. Audiences will enjoy the sweeping circle patterns and gestures drawn from Israeli folk dance, as well as the stunning athleticism displayed by the Koresh dancers as they seamlessly shift between classical, folk, and pedestrian movements.
A STEAM project with Koresh Dance Company has been made possible with a grant from Time Warner Cable.
Ticket prices for Koresh Dance Company at Schimmel Center at Pace University range from $29-$49. The performances will take place on Friday, February 6 at 7:30pm and Saturday, February 7 at 7:30pm. Schimmel Center is located at 3 Spruce Street in downtown Manhattan.
