KANSAS CITY, MO (Aug. 5, 2014) - Kansas City Ballet will present the 4th Annual KC Dance Day at the Todd Bolender Center for Dance & Creativity today, Aug. 23rd from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The full day will feature FREE dance performances, classes, demonstrations, giveaways and FUN for the whole family.
"This event is THE kick-off event of the new season. More than two thousand Kansas Citians will join us for this open house and fun-filled day of dance," stated Artistic Director Devon Carney. "All are welcome to come enjoy. And our Kansas City Ballet Second company (KCBII) and Trainees will perform as a bonus, additionally we'll show a sneak peek into the upcoming production ofAlice (in wonderland) which is sure to delight families."

FREE Children's and Adult Dance Classes
Doors open at 8:30 a.m. Classes start at 9:15 a.m. and continue until 4:45 p.m.
Choose from more than 20 FREE dance and movement classes offered by the Kansas CityBallet School. Classes are available for kids ages 3-8 in Creative Movement and Pre-Ballet and for Children's Ballet for ages 8-11. FREE classes for ages 12 and up include Zumba®, Pilates Mat, Hip Hop, Jazz, Modern, Ballet, Tap, and Yoga, plus demonstrations of our FIVE Pilates Reformer machines. There also will be World Dance classes for all ages including Hawaiian, Irish Step, Spanish, West African, Mexican and Chinese.
