"untempered" features a wide range of stimulating and inventive contemporary works. The senior choreographers have drawn from deeply personal experiences and will explore themes of overcoming life obstacles, realism vs. idealism, beauty vs. destruction, gender roles in relationships and pushing physical boundaries. Each work will also be paired with a collaborative musical score composed by five Hartt composition graduates-Weizhao Zhang, Douglas Taige McMahon, Kyle Grimm, Andrey Stolyarov and Dan Lis. In addition to their own works, the five Hartt seniors - Celina Lopez, Hannah Myers, Erica Nelson, Katie Schenker, and Arielle Solomon - will perform commissioned solos created by five internationally accredited choreographers: Nicholas Villeneuve, Belinda McGuire, Kathryn Alter, Erin Dillon and Adam Barruch. Additional theatrical elements will be included in this performance including live musicians, video projections, spoken poetry and integrated props.
