Gallim Dance creates and performs throughout the world original work by artistic director and founder Andrea Miller. Gallim quickly captured the attention of fellow artists, presenters, and audiences with its award-winning work, ensemble of dancers, and a fearless physicality grounded by deep humanity and expressed through the madness and joy of the imagination.

Gallim is a highly sought-after company whose work has been by acclaimed by the New York Times as "voluptuously polyglot choreography." The company performs for over 15,000 audience members annually in premier venues.

Gallim Dance takes place tonight, June 4, 2015 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are priced at $19-$39; Premium $45; Students with ID $12. Tickets are available online at www.harriscenter.net or from the Harris Center Ticket Office at 916-608-6888 from 10 am to 6 pm Monday through Saturday, and two hours before show time. Parking is included in the price of the ticket. Harris Center is located on the west side of Folsom Lake College campus in Folsom, CA, facing East Bidwell Street.

Gallim Dance, founded in 2007, is the brainchild of Andrea Miller. The Choreographer and Artistic Director defines her vision for the company by saying, "I am curious to understand the capacity of the body, its anatomy, its power, and its instinct to connect with the space and events around us. In my work I look for texture, a quality of energy, or a psychological pitch that surfaces in the doing of things."

In 2014, Miller received the honor of being named a Guggenheim Fellow by the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, for demonstrating exceptional creative ability. New York Magazine writes, "Her viscerally physical movement wrings every inch of life from her dancers -- and you'll be holding your breath, too."

Miller is the recipient of multiple awards and honors, including Sadler's Wells Jerwood Fellowships (2012 and 2013), Princess Grace Foundation Special Projects Awards (2012 and 2013), New York City Center Choreography Fellowship (2011-2012), Joyce Theater Artist in Residence (2011-2012), Youth America Grand Prix Award for Emerging Choreographers (2011), Wesleyan University's Mariam McGlone Emerging Choreographer Award (2011), Princess Grace Foundation Works in Progress Award (2010), Dance Magazine's 25 to Watch (2009), and the Princess Grace Foundation Fellowship in Choreography (2009).

The performing company is comprised of Céline D'Hont, who trained with the prestigious Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Julliard graduate Alyssen Hooks, Matthew Perez, Royal Swedish Ballet School alum Daniel Staaf, Austin Tyson, whose training hails from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, and Georgia Usborne, a dancer whose talent earned her a spot as a company member with Bern Ballet in Germany following her two year apprenticeship.

The company will be offering a performance of mixed repertory, allowing them to showcase a wide range of their talents and moving artistry, grounded in Miller's bold choreography.
