Dores André And Luke Ingham to Appear in Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet's THE NUTCRACKER

DORES ANDRÉ and LUKE INGHAM, principal dancers of the San Francisco Ballet will appear as guest artists in the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet's production of The Nutcracker on December 9 and 10, 2017 at the Riverview Theatre in Shreveport, Louisiana.

DORES ANDRÉ was born in Vigo Spain and was trained under guidance of Antonio Almenara and at Estudio de Danza de Maria Avila.

In 2004, Ms. André joined the San Francisco Ballet. Ms. André was promoted to soloist in 2012, and in 2015, she was promoted to principal dancer.

Ms. André has distinguished herself in roles in the 19th century classics and in the works of contemporary ballet choreographers. Among her roles are Myrtha and Moyna in Helgi Tomasson's production of Giselle, the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Queen of the Snow, and Grand Pas de Deux in Tomasson's The Nutcracker, Juliet in Tomasson's Romeo and Juliet, Swanhilda in the Alexandra Danilova/George Balanchine production of Coppelia, a Fairy and White Cat in Tomasson's production of The Sleeping Beauty, Olga in John Cranko's Onegin, Elizabeth Lavenza in Liam Scarlett's Frankenstein, and the title role, Stepsister Clementine and Spirit of Spring/Lightness in Christopher Wheeldon's Cinderella.

Ms. André's repertoire includes principal roles in Tomasson's Criss-Cross, and The Fifth Season, the Ballerina in Mikhail Fokine's Petrouchka, Quantus in Justin Peck's In The Countenance of Kings, Ashley Page's Guide To Strange Places, Yuri Possokhov's Classical Symphony, Firebird, Swimmer, Magrittomania, Fusion, and The Rite of Spring, Jerome Robbins' In The Night, Dances At A Gathering, and West Side Story Suite, Wayne McGregor's Borderlands, Christopher Wheeldon's Carousel (A Dance), Ghosts, Rush, Continuum, and Within The Golden Hour, Alexei Ratmansky's From Foreign Lands, Le Carnaval des Animaux, Chamber Symphony, Symphony No. 9,and Seven Sonatas, William Forsythe's The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude, and Pas/Parts, Hans van Manen's Variations for Two Couples, Mark Morris' Drink To Me Only With Thine Eyes, Johan Kobborg's Les Lutins, and Liam Scarlett's Hummingbird. She also created a role in Margaret Jenkins' Thread, Jiri Bubenicek's Fragile Vessels, Scarlett's Fearful Symmetries, Myles Thatcher's Ghost in the Machine, and the title role in Arthur Pita's Salome.

Ms. André has also danced featured roles in Tomasson's production of Swan Lake, the Helgi Tomasson/Yuri Possokhov production of Don Quixote, Natalia Makarova's production of the Kingdom of the Shades from La Bayadere, John Neumeier's The Little Mermaid, George Balanchine's Divertimento No. 15, the Emeralds Act of Jewels, The Four Temperaments, Symphony in Three Movements, Agon, Brahms-Schoenberg Quartet, and Scotch Symphony, Val Caniparoli's Ibsen's House, Serge Lifar's Suite en Blanc, Jorma Elo's Double Evil, and Rudolf Nureyev's production of Raymonda Act III.

Ms. André has also danced in works choreographed by David Bintley, William Forsythe, James Kudelka, Edwaard Liang, Agnes de Mille, Mark Morris, Alexei Ratmansky, Paul Taylor, Myles Thatcher, and Renato Zanella.

In 1996 Ms. André was awarded first place at the Ciudad de Torrelavega Competition.

From Mount Gambier, South Australia, LUKE INGHAM trained at The Australian Ballet School, where he studied under the guidance Dale Baker and Mark Annear. From 2004-2010 Mr. Ingham performed with The Australian Ballet during which time he was pomoted to soloist in 2008. Mr. Ingham danced with Houston Ballet for the 2011-2012 season. Mr. Ingham then joined the San Francisco Ballet as a soloist in 2012, and was promoted to principal dancer in 2014.

As a member of the San Francisco Ballet, Mr. Ingham has danced principal and soloist roles in Helgi Tomasson's Giselle (Albrecht), Tomasson's The Nutcracker (Nutcracker Prince and King of the Snow), Tomasson's Romeo & Juliet (Romeo), Tomasson's Caprice, and Tomasson's Criss-Cross, the Helgi Tomasson/Yuri Possokhov production of Don Quixote (Espada); George Balanchine's Agon (pas de deux), Brahms-Schoenberg Quartet (4th movement), and Serenade (Dark Angel), Val Caniparoli's Ibsen's House (The Stranger); the title role in John Cranko's Onegin, Edwaard Liang's Symphonic Dances, Hans van Manen's Variations for Two Couples, Yuri Possokhov's Firebird (Prince), The Rite of Spring (principal), and Swimmer (Nighthawks pas de deux), Alexei Ratmansky's From Foreign Lands (German), Shostakovich Trilogy (Symphony #9 and Piano Concerto #1), and Souvenir d'un lieu cher, Jerome Robbins' Dances at a Gathering (Green), Glass Pieces (pas de deux), and In the Night (3rd pas de deux), Liam Scarlett's Hummingbird; and Christopher Wheeldon's Cinderella (Prince Gillaume), Ghosts, and Within the Golden Hour.

With other ballet companies Mr. Ingham's career highlights have included Peggy Van Praagh's Coppélia (Franz), Kenneth MacMillan's Manon (Lescaut), Ben Stevenson's The Nutcracker (Prince), and Jerome Robbins' Afternoon of a Faun. He has also performed works by a wide range of choreographers, including Nacho Duato, Mikhail Fokine, Jirí Kylián, Serge Lifar, Wayne McGregor, and Stanton Welch.

Mr. Ingham danced the role of Tybalt in the 2015 film of Tomasson's Romeo & Juliet as part of the inaugural season of Lincoln Center at the Movies: Great American Dance. As a guest artist, he performed with Morphoses/The Wheeldon Company for the 2010 winter season in San Francisco, Santa Barbara, and at Stanford University, California, and in Ottawa, Canada.

Mr. Ingham has also performed as a guest artist with the Australian Ballet dancing the role of Franz in Coppelia, and with the Cincinnati Ballet dancing Yuri Possokhov's Fusion Pas de Deux.
