Dark Angels to Premiere at National Arts Centre in Ottawa, April 20

Dark Angels, a new work choreographed by Guillaume Côté, Principal Dancer and Choreographic Associate with The National Ballet of Canada, will make its world premiere at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa April 20 - 22, 2017.

Dark Angels is presented in ENCOUNT3RS, the National Arts Centre's all-Canadian programme in celebration of Canada's sesquicentennial, featuring three new ballets each with its own original score by a Canadian composer. Performed by ten dancers from the National Ballet, Dark Angels is set to music by Kevin Lau, who composed the original music for Mr. Côté's Le Petit Prince. The programme will also feature new works by Emily Molnar, Artistic Director of Ballet BC, with music by Nicole Lizée and Jean Grand-Maître, Artistic Director of Alberta Ballet, with music by Andrew Staniland.

The programme will be accompanied by the National Arts Centre Orchestra under the baton of music director Alexander Shelley.

Dark Angels will make its National Ballet premiere during the 2017/18 season in Toronto at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts June 16-22, 2018.
