All Dance lovers in the New York area - especially those who are fans of the popular TV series "So You Think You Can Dance" and "Dancing with the Stars" -- will want to attend the big "Hollywood-type" dance event being thrown by "SYTYCD" choreographers Melanie LaPatin and Tony Meredith in New York City on Sunday, October 16, at 6 PM at The Danny Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College in Manhattan.

They will not only see some of the best dancers in the country perform in person, they will also be helping to raise much needed funds for the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation which supports research leading to discoveries in understanding causes and improved treatment of mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, depression and bipolar disorder.

This one-night-only benefit will showcase the artistry of Latin and ballroom dance with some of the most talented performers in the world, including "SYTYCD" top 20 contestant and world 10 dance champion Iveta Lukosuite, and her partner Gherman Mustuc; 2011 USA Tango Champions Sidney Grant and Gayle Madeira; and National 10 dance amateur champions Sasha Chernositov and his partner Regina Maziarz. They will share the stage with many other star dance performers who will be sharing their talents at this one-night benefit.

Melanie and Tony, producers of the New York "Hollywood-style" event and owners of Dance Times Square, are excited to have found a way to use their passion for dancing to support a cause they avidly believe in.

Benefit Details Date and time: Sunday, October 16, 2011 at 6 PM (Doors open at 5:30 PM) Place: Danny Kaye Playhouse, 695 Park Ave (Park Ave & 68th Street) Tickets: $20 to $55. For more information and to order tickets: Visit the Danny Kaye Playhouse box office or call at 212.772.4448.
