Second showcase features emerging & established artists.
With a mission to support the dance community in Alberta, Dance YYC is presenting their second dance showcase to celebrate local talent, both emerging and established in Calgary.
The Dance YYC showcase will be a weekend filled with performances from some of the community's most exciting movement artists, featuring Folklore Salvadoreño Dance Group, NextGen Dance Company, Honey Sturdy Flamenco, Encorps Dance Collective, plus many more, on November 6 and 7 at Decidedly Jazz Dance Centre.
"The Dance YYC Showcase was created as an opportunity to connect dancers to the broader community. We accepted submissions from independent artists, dance companies, crews, collectives and youth training initiatives in Calgary and surrounding areas. This provides a unique live performance experience to enjoy while introducing the performers to new audiences," said Christahh Ahh, Dance YYC's Founder and Director.
"Having this event encourages in-person engagement in local movement arts, and creates a tangible difference in our community. We are thrilled to present it at DJD Dance Centre, which is such a beautiful and inspiring space."
