Last seen in the UK in 2013 and in London's West End in 2010, New York's all-male, professional comedy ballet company, Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo returns to the UK in autumn 2015 for a Dance Consortium tour beginning at Sadler's Wells' The Peacock in London on 15 September and concluding at Birmingham Hippodrome on 11 November.

Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, or 'The Trocks', as they are affectionately known, present an inspired blend of their loving knowledge of dance, their brilliant comedic approach, and the astonishing fact that men can, indeed, dance en pointe without falling flat on their faces.

Dancers Ida Nevasyneva, Olga Supphozova, Larisko Dumbchenko and fellow broad-shouldered, hairy-chested ballerinas grace the stage in up to size 12 pointe shoes, with their playful and entertaining take on traditional ballet; a true en travesti parody of favourites from the classical and modern repertoire.

The Trocks' much welcomed return marks the company's fourteenth visit to the UK and follows extensive tours to Europe and Japan in spring and summer 2015. The UK performances include the show-stopping Swan Lake Act II; the abstract humour of the Merce Cunningham-inspired Patterns in Space; Go For Barocco, a satire on Balanchine's choreography complete with killer hips and plenty of attitude, and the fan-flicking, castanet-clicking, UK premiere of Don Quixote (pictured).

The 2015 UK Tour starts with a West End season at Sadler's Wells' The Peacock in London, followed by performances at Theatre Royal Newcastle, The Mayflower Southampton, Marlowe Theatre Canterbury, Wales Millennium Centre Cardiff, Festival Theatre Edinburgh, Eden Court Theatre Inverness, Alhambra Theatre Bradford, Royal Concert Hall Nottingham, Dome Brighton, The Lowry Salford and Birmingham Hippodrome.

The tour programme, which is subject to alteration, will be as follows:

15 - 20 Sept LONDON PROGRAMME 1 Swan Lake Act II / Pas de deux tbc / Esmeralda / Paquita

22 - 26 Sept LONDON PROGRAMME 2 Les Sylphides / Patterns in Space / Go for Barocco / Don Quixote

6 Oct - 11 Nov UK TOUR PROGRAMME Swan Lake Act II /Patterns in Space / Go for Barocco / Don Quixote

Founded in 1974 by a group of ballet enthusiasts, The Trocks first performed in the late-late shows in Off-Off Broadway lofts and are now treasured all around the world by audiences and critics alike. In 41 dynamic and non-stop years the award-winning company has clocked up hundreds of thousands of touring miles to over 610 cities in 40 countries. Company dancers currently hail from Australia, Cuba, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Spain and USA.

Under the artistic directorship of Tory Dobrin, who first joined the company as a dancer in 1980, the company continues to appeal to a wide range of theatregoers, from those new to the art form to balletomanes accustomed to the hilarity and precision of these men en pointe.

Wrapped around the tour is a busy education programme, with opportunities to attend a Trocks' Open Rehearsal, take part in Over 50's masterclasses or ask members of the company about life as a Trock during one of the many post-show Q&As.
