Dance Academy USA Production Company Wins Competition at Starpower Dance Competition

Dance Academy USA Production Company proudly announces that its dance competition team won top honors in several different categories of dance at the Starpower Dance Competition, which was held from March 22nd - 24th at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, CA. These impressive results come on the heels of their outstanding performances at the NUVO Dance competition as well as the ShowBiz Talent Competition.

DAUPC had 23 routines that received an adjudication of 5 stars, the highest score bracket, and 21 routines that placed 1st in their respective genres. Special recognition goes to the routines In Person, Da Wop and Jailhouse, which won Overall top honors in the categories Power Teen Small Group; All Star Petite Small Groups; and All Star Petite Line, respectively.

Competition Team Manager, Loretta Carter, said "This weekend's overwhelming success at Starpower is a true testament to our teams' hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence. They laid it all out on the stage - technique, teamwork, showmanship, and passion for dance. We couldn't be prouder!"

The Starpower Dance Competition is now in its 26th year in the in the world of dance competitions. Starpower uses an innovative "Star Scoring Program" with 3 levels of competition: "Star," "All Star," and "Power." Starpower is constantly adding new awards, scholarships, and performance opportunities for every dancer. Starpower thrives on its relationships and support from studio directors, teachers, performers, and parents over the past two decades.

Starpower began as an eleven city tour with one National Championship and has continued to grow, keeping its status as one of the largest talent competitions in America. Starpower's stages host tens of thousands of performers of all ages from coast to coast and has even branched out to London, England and Toronto, Canada.

Background
Dance Academy USA was founded in 1990 by James R. and Jane R. Carter. The business has since expanded in size, becoming the largest dance studio in Northern California with a staff with over 50 employees. Jane Carter is a graduate of San Jose State University with a degree in Human Performance and Fitness and a minor in Nutrition and Food Science. While at San Jose State University, Jane was a member of Spartan Spectrum Dance Team. While in college she was also selected as the Dole Corporation "Ambassador" which allowed her to teach dance in Japan. Additionally, Jane is a former dancer for the Golden State Warriors and a professional cheerleader for the San Francisco 49ers.
