DANCE OF THE SEVEN HEADED MOUSE Hosts Post Show Discussion Tonight 7/14

Lindsey Myers, Director of Community Outreach at the Alcoholism Council of New York, is set to lead a post-performance audience discussion at the the new hit Off-Broadway play Dance of the Seven Headed Mouse Tuesday, July 14th. This is part of an ongoing series of talkbacks at Dance of the Seven Headed Mouse focusing on the effects of drug and alcohol abuse in grieving families. The July 14th talkback will immediately follow the 7 p.m. performance at The Beckett at Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd Street.

For 50 years, the Alcoholism Council of New York (ACNY) has addressed the disease of alcoholism and its impact on diverse populations in New York City. ACNY is a voluntary, not-for-profit health organization and New York City's leading resource in the field of alcohol and substance abuse. Lindsey Myers has been affiliated with the Alcoholism Council of New York's Community Outreach program since January 2009.

Dance of the Seven Headed Mouse, by Carole Gaunt, opened on June 23rd to favorable reviews led by Bloomberg's John Simon who called the play "Genuinely touching." The limited engagement is set through July 25th. Under the direction of Christopher McElroen, the cast includes Joseph Adams, Laura Bonarrigo, Molly Ephraim, Lauren Currie Lewis, and Maya Simkowitz.

In Dance of the Seven Headed Mouse, the fault lines are exposed when a seemingly picture-perfect Fifth Avenue family faces the harshest of realities - the death of their daughter. A father turns to work to drown his sorrow, while his wife drifts into a haze of pills and booze. When their surviving child Avril inexplicably drops out of her prestigious New England boarding school, her roommate Juliana arrives for a visit, determined to lure her back. Acting as a catalyst and witness, Juliana exposes the gaping cracks in the family's Upper East Side façade, forcing its three surviving members to engage with one another and the tragedy they share.

Performances are Tuesday at 7pm, Wednesday through Saturday at 8pm, with matinees Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. The Beckett at Theatre Row is located at 410 West 42nd Street (between Ninth & Tenth Ave.) Tickets are available through TicketCentral.com 212-279-4200.
