COMPANY CHAMELEON, the award-winning, dance theatre company co-directed by Anthony Missen and Kevin Edward Turner out of Manchester, will tour the intense, funny, painful and highly entertaining BEAUTY OF THE BEAST this autumn. Premiering at The Lowry tonight, October 22nd, where the company are Resident Artists, UK dates will run till November 26th.

Featuring four outstanding performers - Anthony Missen, Eryck Brahmania, Lee Clayden, Thomasin Gülgeç, and two apprentices Theo Fapohunda, Daniel Phung - the brand new production is choreographed for Company Chameleon by Co-Artistic Director Anthony Missen. A moving and subversive look at male group dynamics, Beauty Of The Beast exposes the many faces of man - strength, camaraderie, vulnerability and hostility; and what happens when affiliation becomes identity. Says Anthony Missen: "BEAUTY OF THE BEAST is all about male behaviour and how men interact. It looks at the different faces of masculinity or maleness - the beauty, the beast, the idiot, camaraderie, strength, vulnerability and sensitivity. And we've got a brilliant cast of four (including me) along with two apprentices from the NSCD programme. I'm very excited about Beauty Of The Beast partly because this is the first opportunity I've had to work with a group. Research has come from all over the place, from going to work in a young offenders' institute in South Africa, with young men in violent communities in Trinidad, to Morocco and other places."

With an exciting mix of collaborators, five exceptional performers showcase the company's unique physical style, combining dance, theatre and live music to hold up a topical mirror to our times.

Commissioned by The Lowry, DanceXchange and Live at LICA.
