This season Common Ground presents modern and contemporary works, as well as ballet and musical theater from area choreographers: Melinda Blomquist (CCBC), Anne O'Brien (Dancemoves), Kristi Schaffner (CCBC), and Lindsay Stallings (CGDC). Additionally, the company will present works from its repertoire, choreographed by Helanius Wilkins (Edgeworks Dance Theater), Deborah Engerman (Dawn Crafton Dance Connection), and Morgan Grubola.
Common Ground Dance Company's mission includes mentoring young dancers, as well as a commitment to making dance accessible for all ages. CGDC's Annual Concert will feature both CGDC and student companies from area high schools and dance studios. This year, a portion of the proceeds from our Annual Concert will go toward revitalizing "Bridge to a Common Ground," CGDC's partnership in education. The company plans to earmark funds to extend itself into school outreach, helping to keep an artistic presence, with dance at its focus, in education. It also looks forward to creating workshops and master classes for dance students involved in our concert.
