Artistic Director Melinda Blomquist's new work Where is it Written, performed by the full CCBC Dance Company, explores the interaction between individuals as they move franticly through the space.
Assistant Professor Tommy Parlon's work Left-Handed Dream explores a lush inner landscape where the dancers interact with each other in ways that are playful, intense, thoughtful and supportive. The dance unfolds from a taut opening tableau and proceeds through space in athletic spirals and slashes. The dancers continually connect to disconnect, ultimately discovering their mutual need for unity. Angelo Bell, Deontay Gray, and Christopher Reed with Ryan Davis as an understudy are the dancers.
Associate Director Linda O'Brien's new work Fragments explores the evolving relationship between the dancers as they "break" into pieces and reunite into ever changing interactions. Featured dancers are Leanne Gibson, Deontay Gray, Lia Karagianopoulos, Anastasia McKenzie, and Jessica Zeigler
Guest Artist works will include:
Dream Catchers by Alvin Mayes from the University of Maryland, he has created a new piece for the company that explores the idea of dream catchers.
