Bramwell Tovey returns to the Hollywood Bowl to lead the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Los Angeles-based Dance Company Diavolo, Thursday, September 5, at 8 pm. Diavolo, under the guidance of Artistic Director Jacques Heim, presents its final premiere in a triptych of works created especially for the Hollywood Bowl with Fluid Infinities, set to the sounds of Philip Glass' Symphony No. 3. The program also features Adams' The Chairman Dances and Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet Suite.

Fluid Infinities is the final installment in L' Espace du Temps, a trilogy of commissions from the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The piece is set on an abstract dome-shaped structure on which the dancers explore the metaphors of infinite space, continuous movement, and the voyage into the unknown future. The dome's organic patterns evoke the craters of Mars, a honeycomb of bees, a shifting brain, or an undiscovered starship.

A musician of striking versatility, Grammy award-winning conductor Bramwell Tovey is acknowledged around the world for his artistic depth and his warm, charismatic personality on the podium. Tovey's career as a conductor is uniquely enhanced by his work as a composer and pianist, lending him a remarkable musical perspective. His tenures as music director with the Vancouver Symphony, Luxembourg Philharmonic and Winnipeg Symphony Orchestras have been characterized by his expertise in operatic, choral, British and contemporary repertoire. Tovey, who is entering his 14thseason as Music Director of the Vancouver Symphony, also continues his association with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, and as founding host and conductor of the New York Philharmonic's Summertime Classics series at Avery Fisher Hall. An esteemed guest conductor, Tovey has worked with orchestras in the United States and Europe including the London Philharmonic, London Symphony and Frankfurt Radio Orchestra. In North America, he has made guest appearances with the orchestras of Baltimore, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Seattle, and Montreal. Touring is an important aspect of Tovey's artistic leadership with the Vancouver Symphony and in winter 2013 they embarked on a west coast US tour including visits to a number of brand new facilities in California and Nevada. To his already busy summer schedule this year he added return visits to the Philadelphia Orchestra in Saratoga, NY, and the Cleveland Orchestra at Blossom Music Center.
