Bob Dylan, NEWSIES, Ira Glass, Neil deGrasse Tyson and More Set for The Kimmel Center's 2014-15 Season

The Kimmel Center kicks off its 2014-2015 season this week with more than 100 new shows on sale to the public for the first time, including multi-Grammy winner and Songwriters Hall of Famer Bob Dylan (Nov. 21-23), Broadway's Tony-Winning hit Newsies (Oct. 28-Nov. 2), award winning NPR radio host Ira Glass (Nov. 12), Puerto Rican super group, Calle 13 (Sept. 27), and Emmy winning astrophysicist Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson (Feb. 25).
"We are proud to kick off the season with an amazing lineup!" said Kimmel Center President and CEO, Anne Ewers. "This season's calendar is bursting at the seams with talent all across the Kimmel Center's campus."
The season kicks off the weekend of September 12 -13 with the return of trans-Atlantic progressive rock band King Crimson. Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia celebrates their 50th anniversary with pianist Di Wu Plays Mendelssohn (Sept. 14-15) and Opera Philadelphia's 40th anniversary season opens with Rossini's The Barber of Seville (Sept. 26-Oct. 5). The Philadelphia Orchestra's opening concerts, Season Begins (Sept. 26-28), feature Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin and piano superstar Lang Lang. Other highlights include the legendary Neil Young (Oct. 8-9), Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honoree Jackson Browne (Oct. 10), an intimate acoustic performance by Brandi Carlile (Oct. 4),Press Play: The Directorial Debut of Ángel Corella with the Pennsylvania Ballet (Oct. 16-26), The Philly Pops' Era of ABBA (Oct. 17-19), and the premiere of John Mellencamp and Stephen King's Ghost Brothers of Darkland County (Nov. 13).

Single tickets are now on sale for the national premiere in Philadelphia of Newsies (Oct. 8- Nov.2). Cinderella (Nov. 25-30), Stomp (Dec. 26-30) and The Illusionists (Feb. 24-Mar. 1) will go on sale to the general public on September 12. Bob Dylan and His Band (Nov. 21-23) goes on sale September 8.
