The highly popular Ballroom DanceSport Extravaganza show will return to the Westchester Broadway Theatre for one performance Tuesday evening, June 25. The show, that highlights almost every phase of ballroom dancing in showcase presentations in two 50-minutes acts, continues to perform to sold-out audiences as it tours the United States. The current show features one of the world's greatest Argentine Tango couples as well as five renown World and American champions.
New to the all-star cast are Shane and Shannon Jensen one of America's most spectacular dance teams who by special invitation will perform this year in Blackpool, England, the world's most prestigious ballroom event. The Jensens are the reigning United States Theater Arts Champions and Latin stars from Brigham Young University's undefeated formation team. They were silver medalists in the "Open To-The-World Professional Cabaret Championship and appear through the courtesy of the Metropolitan Dance Center in Stamford, CT.
Also new to the cast will be Delyan Terziev and Boriana Deltcheva, who will perform their dynamic presentation that won them the bronze medal at the 2012 World Showdance Championship held in Eastern Europe. They are World Cup Professional Latin Champions, 3-times Bulgarian Latin Champions, U.S. representatives to the World Latin title, Blackpool finalists, and winners of the Gold for the South American Latin Championship.
We introduce the elegant Anya Demidova with her partner Andrew Begunov, both the Rising Star Professional ballroom champions and "Open-To-The-World Champions. Anya was the winner of the professional dance title contested on ABC TV's popular DANCING WITH THE STARS show. Absolute elegance and enchantment best describes Anya with Andrew who are winners of every major Triple Crown competition and professional Rising Star event held in America.
There is not a greater Argentine Tango team in the world than Jorge Torres and Maria Blanco who near the completion of their world tour when the perform at the WBT. Torres is amazing to behold as he dances with a quiet and smooth style. He occupied the "Captain of the Dancers" role in Broadway's FOREVER TANGO for which he was nominated for a Tony Award for best choreography of a show. Blanco is admired for her complete focus on technique and precision, and is the producer and director of the show that continues on tour, WHAT A WOMAN WANTS FROM A MAN IN A TANGO. A show for both men and women.
Patryk Ploszaj and Anna Kaczmarski, the amazing kids who wowed the WBT audience two years ago, return by popular request and now as the World's Jr. Ballroom Champions. Patryk and Anna, both age 15, won their World title this past Dec. in Paris where they also won the World Bronze title in Latin facing 29 other couples in the 14-16-year-old category..The popular kids were finalists on NBC TV's hit show AMERICA'S GOT TALENT and headlined the New Years Eve show at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.
Extremely popular and audience favorites are Dmitri and Svetlana Ostashkin of Ardsley, NY, who were twice the Latin Champions of Eastern Europe and Grand Finalists for the World Showdance crown held in Shanghai, China, when they represented Russia. Their signature presentation of their rumba, "Smile", has been a highlight of past shows as is their show ending "Big Boy Cha Cha Cha".They own the New York Dance Center in Ardsley where they teach and coach.
The show's producer is Bob Beslove. It's Artistic Director is Marianne Nicole and Musical Director, Peter Collins.
