New York Theatre Ballet's CINDERELLA is a lovely spectacle of dance and magic.
Featuring a small ensemble, this is the classic tale of the original rags-to-riches story of a girl with a dream who, with the help of a fairy godmother, is granted a night of love and magic, which, enviably, turns into her happily ever after. With gorgeous costumes by Sylvia Taalsohn Nolan that make the audience, young and old alike, oh and ah, it's an hour of pure theatre to remember. The men in drag don't hurt, either.
Be advised: it's a show for all ages, but be wary of attention spans. If Cinderella isn't pas de bourrée-ing across the stage, children may find themselves restless. But it may vary, depending on the child and age. Regardless, they'll be mesmerized and their visual appetite will be satisfied. The environment and support staff is charming and warm and welcoming. This is definitely the spot for educational theatre.
