Alexei Kremnev and Anna Reznik to Lead Summer Ballet Intensive in Chicago

The School of Performing Arts' A&A Ballet is currently accepting video submissions for its inaugural International Summer Dance Intensive, to be led by former Joffrey Academy artistic directors Alexei Kremnev and Anna Reznik.

A versatile dance training seminar for serious students, the intensive will emphasize the development of each student's individual potential, with offerings in Ballet, Pointe, Men's, Partnering, Variations, Contemporary, Character, Body Conditioning, Repertoire and Choreography. Classes will be taught by Kremnev and Reznik, and a roster of A&A Ballet faculty whose dedication to teaching the art of ballet is unsurpassed.

The 2017 International Summer Dance Intensive will run for five weeks, June 19 - July 21, for dancers age 10-21. There will also be a two-week Juniors' Program, for dancers age 9-11, June 19 - 30, and a two-week Back-to-School Intensive, for dancers age 10-21, Aug. 7 - 18. All classes will be held at The School of Performing Arts' downtown A&A Ballet studio, located in the American Rhythm Center, 410 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago. Video audition submissions are being accepted until each program's commencement, or until class sizes reach capacity.

Internationally recognized for their groundbreaking work at the Joffrey Academy and Joffrey Studio Company, Alexei Kremnev and Anna Reznik recently opened their own A&A Ballet studio at The School of Performing Arts in Greater Chicago. Kremnev and Reznik carry with them an unrivaled reputation for producing strong, dynamic and sophisticated dancers, based on the purity and structure of the Russian School, coupled with a deep understanding of the current and most progressive approaches to dance and movement.

When submitting a video audition for The School of Performing Arts' A&A Ballet 2017 International Summer Dance Intensive, please adhere to the following requirements:

· Video length should be five minutes.

· Applicants should demonstrate barre exercises (one side only), center, allégro, and pointe work (age/level appropriate) and must be easily identifiable in the recording.

· A headshot with ballet hairstyle should be included with the video audition. Students age 12 and older should also include a photo on pointe (ladies) and a photo in first arabesque.

· Photos submitted should be 4 by 6 inches.

· Audition materials should be submitted through the A&A Ballet link on the School of Performing Arts website (click on Dance, then A&A Ballet/Auditions) or via email to aacenterfordance@gmail.com.
