Ajkun Ballet Theatre has announced their Spring 2014 Performance Calendar, which includes Women Dancing Through History, Midsummer Night's Dream, and Revolution.
Women Dancing Through History is AjkunBT's Historic Place Face to Face Series. In recognition of March as Women's History Month, AjkunBT presents a special performance evoking the lives of three prominent women from American history associated with St. Paul's -- Anne Hutchinson, Abigail Adams and the indomitable Eleanor Roosevelt. An Introductory lecture is offered at 1pm by a historian with the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library. Women Dancing Through History is a 45 minute production. It will take place Saturday, March 8 at 2:00pm at St. Paul's Historic Site at 897 South Columbus Avenue in Mount Vernon, NY. Midsummer Night's Dream is a truly magical and irresistibly funny ballet of Shakespeare's masterpiece. Touching, joyously inventive and particularly close to Shakespeare's heart, Midsummer Night's Dream is filled with the most delightful creatures on a roller coaster of emotional depth and humor in this premiere by Ajkun Ballet Theatre choreographed by Chiara Ajkun. Midsummer Night's Dream is a 1 hour production. It will take place Friday, April 11 at 7:00pm and Saturday April 12 at 2:00pm at the Whitney Theater at New Rochelle High School at 265 Clove Road in New Rochelle, NY.
