Actor and comedian Chris Tucker's trademarked style, incomparable delivery, impeccable comedic timing, and signature voice make him one of today's premiere entertainers. Tucker brings his stand-up show to Bass Concert Hall on Friday, May 3. Tickets go on sale Friday, January 25 at 10 a.m., at authorized ticket outlets, which include the Bass Concert Hall ticket office, most H-E-B stores and all Texas Box Office outlets, online at www.texasperformingarts.org, or by calling (512) 477-6060 or (800) 982-BEVO.

Early in his stand-up career, Tucker gained a reputation as one of the leading comics on the Los Angeles comedy circuit and was invited to participate in hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons ' Def Comedy Jam on HBO, where he became a frequent performer. As a high-energy actor, Tucker paired up with one of rap's greatest, Ice Cube, in the 1995 cult classic, Friday. As "Smokey" in Friday, Tucker utilized his keen sense of comedy and acting while developing a signature screen persona that would garner international fame and recognition. He then gave a remarkable performance alongside veteran actor Lorenz Tate in Dead Presidents and landed co-starring roles in such memorable films as Money Talks, with actor Charlie Sheen; The Fifth Element withaction hero Bruce Willis; and Quentin Tarantino 's Jackie Brown.

Beyond the popularity and notoriety of the previous years' films, it was the 1998 blockbuster hit Rush Hour that amassed a global following to catapult Tucker to international stardom. The action comedy, starring Tucker and martial artist Jackie Chan, would transfix audiences and surpass box office records, making the feature film an extraordinary global success. Rush Hour 2 and Rush Hour 3, both huge hits with audiences, further established Tucker as one of the great comedy actors of his generation.

Tucker appears in the recently released film Silver Linings Playbook, directed by David O. Russell and starring Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro.
