Comedian, rapper, and actor Katt Williams returns to Comedy Central in the network television premiere of KATT WILLIAMS: KATTPACALYPSE debuting tonight, February 23 at midnight ET/PT.
With his trademark explosive energy, and hair done up in a self-described "Mayor of Whoville" style, Williams entertains 7,000 appreciative fans at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles with riffs on everything from Obama to the end of the world.
Leading up to the on-air premiere, the
Comedy Central Stand-Up Web site will feature preview clips from the special.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio and raised in Dayton, Williams is known just as much for his permed hair as he is for his animated performances and quick wit. Inspired by the likes of great humorists such as
Richard Pryor,
Eddie Murphy,
Bill Cosby, George Carlin,
Whoopi Goldberg,
Jerry Seinfeld and Dave Chapelle, whom he calls the "Malcolm X of comedy," Williams' entertaining stand-up routines are laying the blueprint for a new generation of comics.
Williams will be appearing in "Scary Movie 5" in 2013 and has been making his mark in Hollywood for well over 10 years; in addition to his
SMASH hit comedy specials "It's Pimpin' Pimpin'" and "American Hustle," he has had roles in "Friday After Next," "NYPD Blue," UPN's "Girlfriends" and "Cuts," "My Wife and Kids,"
Russell Simmons'
HBO "Def Comedy Jam" (alongside Dave Chappelle and
Mike Epps) and as A Pimp Named Slickback on the popular adult cartoon "The Boondocks."
"Katt Williams: Kattpacalypse" is executive produced by Williams, Lena Jenkins-Smith, Lance Rivera and Allen "Big Al" Blackwell.
