On Wednesday, January 27th, the Vermont Symphony Orchestra returns to the House Chambers at the State House for its annual David M. Wilson Memorial Farmers' Night concert. Democracy reigns, with all four instrumental families represented in our 2016 Farmers' Night concert! Winds are featured in Handel's Entrance of the Queen of Sheba, and Mozart's unusual Serenata Notturno adds timpani to a string orchestra. Bass trombonist Gabe Langfur solos in a movement of Chris Brubeck's Trombone Concerto , we premiere a student composition by Montpelier 9th grader Colin Desch, and Haydn's "Morning" Symphony rounds out the program.

This free concert begins at 7:30 pm. The doors open to the public at 6:45 pm.

You can also see us in concert at our Masterworks featuring classical guitarist Sharon Isbin at the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts in Burlington on Saturday, January 29 at 8:00 pm (flynntix.org); or at our Sunday Matinee Series at the Paramount Theatre in Rutland on Sunday, January 31 at 3:00 pm (paramountlive.org). Both performances have pre-concert talks beginning one hour prior to the concert.
