Vancouver -- Turning Point Ensemble will present "Masque Early and New: A Musical Time Capsule" on Friday, April 17th at 7:30pm and Sunday, April 19th at 2:30pm at the Telus Studio Theatre, Chan Centre for the Performing Arts.
The dynamic Turning Point Ensemble presents a musical time capsule that connects music across the centuries. Included in this concert are Britten's Lachrymae based on renaissance lute music of John Dowland featuring violist Marcus Takizawa and Jane Hayes, a new work from genre-transcending jazz artist Tony Wilson, Bradshaw Pack's Piano Inclinato di Galileo, an arrangement of the 14th century composer Ockeghem by Birtwistle, and a work by Peter Maxwell Davies, Seven in Nomine, consisting of arrangements of Renaissance composers and original fantasies.
