The San Francisco Girls Chorus to Perform Their Annual Holiday Concert at Davies Symphony Hall, 12/8

The Grammy Award-winning San Francisco Girls Chorus, Lisa Bielawa, Artistic Director, and its full complement of 300 singers including the San Francisco Girls Chorus School will take to the Davies Symphony Hall stage for its annual holiday concert, conducted by Music Director and Principal Conductor Valérie Sainte-Agathe Monday, December 8, at 8 pm at Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco. In addition, 46-voice San Francisco Girls Chorus will appear as guest artists with New Century Chamber Orchestra for its holiday concerts December 12-21 at various Bay Area venues. Monday, December 8, at 8pm at Davies Symphony Hall, San Francisco

Northern Lights

The full complement of more than 300 voices of the San Francisco Girls Chorus and School take the Davies Symphony Hall stage in song for the annual celebration of the season, which this year will feature winter and holiday themed music from Nordic countries in anticipation of the Chorus' June tour, plus carols and audience sing-along. Monday, December 8, at 8 pm, Davies Symphony Hall, San Francisco. The program will include "Winter," from Folk Songs of the Four Seasons by Vaughan Williams; Engel Gottes kunden by Mozart; "Virmalised" from Northern Lights and "Lauliku Lapsepoli" by Veljo Tormis and other Estonian and Finnish songs to be announced. Sing-along carols include "Deck the Hall" and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas," and others to be announced.

December 12, 18, 19, 20 and 21 with New Century Chamber Orchestra

The Girls Chorus will appear as guest artists with New Century Chamber Orchestra in concerts featuring works by Handel, Vaughan Williams and others. This will mark the first collaboration with the NCCO and adds to the Chorus' impressive list of partners over the years which have included regular appearances with San Francisco Opera, San Francisco Symphony, Opera Paralèlle, and occasional appearances with Joe Goode Performance Group, ODC Dance, Stephen Petronio Dance Company and others. Performances with NCCO will be given Friday, December 12, at Weill Hall at the Green Center at Sonoma State University; Friday, Dec 18, 2014, 8pm, at First Congregational Church in Berkeley; Thursday, Dec 19, 2014, 8pm, at First United Methodist Church in Palo Alto; Saturday, Dec 20, 2014, 8pm, at Nourse Auditorium in San Francisco; and Sunday, Dec 21, 2014, 5pm, at the Osher Marin Jewish Community Center in San Rafael.
