Stravinsky: Pulcinella

In this program of extraordinary contrasts and similarities, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos conducts works of two great composers - Beethoven and Stravinsky. Beethoven continues a revered tradition from the 18th century in his soaring and peaceful Mass in C. Stravinsky, by contrast, takes inspiration from the 18th century for his ballet Pulcinella, but spices up the music with scattered, piquant harmonies and an infectious sense of humor.
