The performance is a celebration of Italy's musical legacy to the world. Cleveland POPS will explore Italy's strong influence on all styles of music, dating back to the invention of opera, the symphony and Italian music traditions, reaching from pre-history to the present and including a wide variety of forms, from traditional folk music to the classics, opera, rock, pop, and musical theater.
Maestro Topilow has selected a program of popular and beloved Italian favorites that everyone will know, from Italian operas, movie themes, Neapolitan ballads, folksongs, popular songs, and Broadway shows.
The concert will feature the Cleveland POPS Orchestra with its charismatic leader Carl Topilow, the Cleveland POPS Chorus with its talented director William Zurkey, along with acclaimed soprano Sarah Jane McMahon and the in-demand young tenor Ryan McPherson.
