The Cleveland Orchestra's popular Fridays@7 concerts continue in 2014-15 with an early start time, no intermission, and an after-party featuring new musical experiences following each Orchestra concert. KeyBank Fridays@7 concerts are less formal, onstage and off. Before and after each 7 p.m. Cleveland Orchestra concert, world music expert Jamey Haddad invites a selection of artists to create unique musical celebrations.
New for the 2014-15 season, Severance Restaurant will be open with a series of post-concert acoustic performances featuring some of Cleveland's local artists, including Luca Mundaca and Moises Borges. The restaurant, which opens at 4 p.m. for pre-concert dining, will offer à la carte options with tempting new fare, featuring seasonally appropriate and local fresh ingredients, desserts, and full bar service. Post-concert dining is a new option this season, with live music offered for Fridays@7 - thus offering concertgoers two options of music post-concert on these special Friday evenings. (The popular performances in the Bogomolny-Kozerefski Grand Foyer continue, and attendees can move back and forth from the Restaurant's more intimate music to the larger space upstairs.)
Cleveland Orchestra Music Director Franz Welser-Möst conducts the opening concert on October 10, followed by guest conductors Marek Janowski (artistic director of the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra) on December 5, and Fabio Luisi (principal conductor of the Metropolitan Opera and general music director of the Zurich Opera) on March 13, 2015. Franz Welser-Möst conducts the final concert of the series on May 15, 2015.
Prior to The Cleveland Orchestra's 7 p.m. concerts, performances by a variety of musicians will take place across the season in Reinberger Chamber Hall beginning at 6 p.m. Artists appearing in post-concert performances in theBogomolny-Kozerefski Grand Foyer will include Hot Club of Detroit on October 10th and the Sammy de Leon Latin Jazz Band featuring renowned saxophonist, Tim Ries (who currently performs with The Rolling Stones and drummer Jack DeJohnette) at the December 5th concert.
