The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera will present its 2015 fundraiser, UnCorked!, on Saturday, May 30 from 6:30-10:00pm at Renaissance Park. This event, held along the banks of the Tennessee River, will feature wine tasting, some of Chattanooga's best cuisine, a silent auction, and of course music for sipping and dancing.
The CSO is partnering with some of the finest restaurants in Chattanooga to bring some of their most scrumptious bites for you. Restaurants and their food selections include Ruth's Chris' filet mignon sliders, Community Pie's kale salad, FoodWorks' shrimp and grits, Urban Stack's grilled chicken wings, along with food, desserts, or beverages from 1885 Grill, 212 Market, Blue Water, Chatta-cakes Bakery, Chattz Coffee, Dipped Fresh, Milk & Honey, Southern Star, St. John's, Taco Mamacita, Terra Mae, Tremont Tavern, Walden Club, and The Culinary Institute of Virginia College. The VIP Tent is being revitalized for 2015. This year, it will be closer to Restaurant Row and give VIPS the chance to experience premium, unique wines, all while learning more about them from industry experts. A selection of Sequatchie Cove Creamery cheeses along with crackers and fruit will be available for sampling. Some featured wines include Bel Glos Dairyman Singly Vineyard Pinot Noir (valued at $44-46), Duckhorn Sauvignon Blanc (valued at $28-30), and Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (valued at $100).
Music will be provided by The Pool, Chattanooga's British Invasion Rock & Roll band. The Pool includes the CSO's Principal Percussionist Monte Coulter. Their music is a mix of hits from the 60s, 70s, and 80s and will have you rocking and dancing. Chattanooga's Funkabuckets will also be playing throughout the evening.
The silent auction will feature fabulous trips, gourmet wine and food experiences, luxurious spa packages, and much more. Bid on your chance to win a trip to the South Beach Wine & Food Festival in Miami, a Charleston, South Carolina getaway, a weekend at the Newport Mansions & Food Festival in Rhode Island, a chance to conduct the CSO at Home for the Holidays 2015, and much more. The silent auction is all online and will be available for bidding starting Tuesday, May 26 and ends Sunday, May 31. Anyone can bid on items whether or not they attend the event.
General admission tickets include wine, food, and a souvenir wine glass and are $65 per person. The VIP Tent Tickets are $125 per person and include wine, food, souvenir wine glass and plate. About the CSO
The mission of the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera is to inspire, engage, and enrich the greater Chattanooga community through music and music education.
The 2013-14 season marks 81 seasons for the CSO, which played its first concert on November 5, 1933. The Symphony consists of top players from the Chattanooga area as well as from across the southern region. The CSO performs a full season of Masterworks, Pops and Chamber concerts from September through May, as well as an annual Pops in the Park performance for the July 4th holiday.
