Join the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra and Chorus as it partners with the Cathedral of St. Joseph for a special performance of Mendelssohn's Elijah. The story focuses on the Prophet Elijah and tells several dramatic episodes relating to him. The SDSO previously partnered with the Cathedral of St. Joseph in 2012.

"Sacred music in a sacred space. A masterpiece like Elijah performed in the magnificence of the St. Joseph Cathedral is a perfect pairing," says David Gier, music director of the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra. "The dramatic biblical story, highlighting miraculous points in the life of the prophet, is brought to life by five vocal soloists along with your South Dakota Symphony Orchestra." The featured soloists include Stephen Bryant as Elijah, sopranos Amanda Hall and Claire Shackleton, mezzo-soprano Barbara Rearick, and tenor Daniel Weeks.

The South Dakota Symphony Orchestra and Chorus will be performing Mendelssohn's Elijah tonight, April 24th and Saturday, April 25th at 7:30 PM at the Cathedral of St. Joseph. Tickets are $30 general admission and can be purchased online at sdsymphony.org or by calling the Washington Pavilion box office at (605) 367 - 6000.
