Bravo Brass, Philadelphia Youth Orchestra's youth brass ensemble, along with the Strath Haven High School (SHHS) Chorus, are preparing to deck the halls and inspire concertgoers with the Christmas spirit in two upcoming performances of "A Holiday Celebration."

These special holiday events will take place as follows:

TONIGHT, December 16, 2014 - 7:30 p.m. - Strath Haven High School, 205 S. Providence Road, Wallingford,

Saturday, December 20, 2014 - 7:30 p.m. - Saint Mark's Church, 1625 Locust Street, Philadelphia

On December 16th, Bravo Brass will join the SHHS Chorus to perform Daniel Pinkham's Christmas Cantata and John Rutter's Gloria as part of the SHHS choral and orchestra concert. The December 20th concert will again feature the Pinkham and Rutter compositions as well as works of Richard Strauss and Darin Kelly and will conclude with a festive audience sing-along. During both performances, the musicians and vocalists will perform under the direction of Bravo Brass Conductor Paul Bryan and SHHS Chorus Conductor John Shankweiler.

Bryan says both performances are sure to delight audience members of all ages. "These are wonderful opportunities for families to enjoy our talented young musicians as they present a lovely and sophisticated holiday musical lineup," he explains.

Admission to both concerts is free; seating is limited. For information, call Philadelphia Youth Orchestra at 215.545.0502.
