The Peniel Choir was founded in June 1986 by Mr. Byung Choun Lee. Presently he is emeritus conductor and Mr. Jin H Byun is the current choir director.
Peniel Choir has performed numerous concerts in New York, New Jersey, Georgia, Canada and Korea in the past 29 years, including performances of Handel's Messiah, Haydn's Creation, Mendelssohn's Elijah and masses by Mozart, Schubert, Gounod, Beethoven, Ramirez and Puccini.
The Choir has performed in such places as Seoul Art Center, bergenPAC, Carnegie Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, Atlanta Symphony Hall, Roy Thomson Hall, Alice Tully Hall and Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center. The Choir has performed Handel's Messiah at Lincoln Center for the last 20 years. This performance marks the choir's 31st performance of Handel's Messiah. The Choir also has participated in numerous choral festivals and has held 57 regular concerts and 43 guest performances.
