Patti LaBelle Joins National Symphony Orchestra For Valentine's Day Concert, 2/14

The National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) Pops announces the addition of a special one-night-only appearance by legendary singer Patti LaBelle with the NSO on Valentine's Day, Tuesday, February 14, 2017, led by NSO Principal Pops Conductor Steven Reineke.

Tickets (starting at $39) are available to Kennedy Center Members beginning Wednesday, November 30, at 10 a.m., and to the general public beginning Thursday, December 1, at 10 a.m.

Singer, author, actress, and entrepreneur Patti LaBelle began her career in the early 1960s as lead singer and front woman of Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles. After the group, which had been renamed Labelle, split in 1976, LaBelle began a successful solo career, which has included numerous hits, and two GRAMMY Awards®, as well as multiple GRAMMY® nominations. Over 50 years, she has sold more than 50 million records worldwide. LaBelle has been inducted into the GRAMMY® Hall of Fame, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame and the Songwriters' Hall of Fame. In 2005, the World Music Awards recognized her years in the music business by awarding her the Legend Award. She was included inRolling Stone on their list of 100 Greatest Singers.

LaBelle has authored five best-selling books- Don't Block the Blessings, LaBelle Cuisine: Recipes to Sing About, Patti's Pearls, Patti LaBelle's Lite Cuisine and Recipes for the Good Life. More recently, she introduced Patti's Good Life, a successful line of food products that features a variety of sauces, sweet potato pie and cakes and has starred in her own highly rated cooking specials on the Cooking Channel and Food Network.

In addition to her amazing career, LaBelle is also known for her commitment to humanitarian causes. She remains an advocate for adoption, foster care, diabetes, cancer, and HIV/AIDS among many other initiatives.
